Overview
This route is based on the Main Illawarra railway lines running down the coastal strip of the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia, around the 1950 to 1965 period, from the Steam Platforms at Sydney Terminal to the final terminus at Bomaderry (Nowra).

The route comprises the following lines:
- Sydney (steam terminal) - Bomaderry (Nowra);
- Unanderra - Moss Vale (first 10km/7 mi only);
- Private lines of AIS Steelworks, Port Kembla, providing most of the steelworks traffic, including coal traffic, coke traffic, hot metal traffic, slag traffic, hot ingot traffic, and steel slabs and shapes traffic.
