Video Tutorials: Building A Loco With 3D Canvas
by Nick Fletcher

Overview

Nick has completed a series of video tutorials designed to help beginners get into building 3D models, particularly MSTS models, with 3D Canvas.

Below is a listing of the guides (hosted on YouTube) as well as links to download ZIP files containing the tutorials as AVI files. At the bottom of this page is a link to enable you to download the whole pack of tutorials (all four parts - a total of 20 videos) as a single ZIP file.

The tutorials can also be found at Nick's site at http://www.bandofgreen.com/videotutorials/

PART 1: The Very Basics of 3D Canvas

The series of videos begin with a look at the basic skills you'll need in order to work with 3D Canvas. I assume you've never seen the program before, or worked with 3D modeling.

PART 3: Build A Locomotive With What You've Learnt So Far

Next in this series of eight videos, we'll produce a locomotive. It's simple, and won't win any design awards, but it'll teach a lot of the things you'll need to know to produce your own models to your own design in the future.

PART 4: Texturing, Exporting and Testing The Locomotive

Once we have completed the application of the texture, it's onto the export stage. See how easy these last two steps really are!
